great summer hat, light and breathes wellSep 14, 2010

My husband loves his porkpie hats, wears them almost daily, and owns more than a dozen. This by far is his favorite for summertime, and I bought it as a replacement for the exact same hat that he'd worn out! It took him a good year and a half of wear in south FL and TX before it showed signs of sweat stains on the outside by the hat band. I was not able to figure out how to clean it, so just bought him a new one - at less than $30, it's more than worth it. This hat gets a lot of good circulation inside due to the material and/or weave, so it's not hot or uncomfortable in the weather we see here in the far south. It stood up to a lot of wear and use (and abuse!), and the hat and brim shape were still crisp after a year and a half. My husband owns this same style in white, natural, and black, and of his many hats, they are definitely the ones that get the most use. My only wish is that they came with single-color hat bands on the outside and replaceable sweatbands inside -- I'd buy more!
