I purchased this hat for the winter months, and while they've been rather mild as of late they've also been just on the edge of cold enough to want a hat like this. That fits snug on my head, is cute, and actually looks like my own dog. That of course was the greatest selling point, but I've found it to be VERY practical as well. It comes down over my ears so they stay warm, the soft fleece lining is very comfortable, and my nephews absolutley love it when I wear the hat.
I didn't realize that the nose/snout portion came off the hat so much (because it's actually stuffed to appear like a snout) but that just makes it even cuter, and provides an extra layer of warmth for my forehead. Even when wearing this I can still put up a hood over top if the winds are high and I want to protect my neck....and of course sometimes my embarassment. I've never worn a hat like this so at first I was embarassed when wearing it out but that quickly went away as few people noticed or cared, and the few that did always giggled and told me how cute they thought the hat was.
